* Wrestlemania was this weekend so no one cared about what happened at WWCF. But apparently WWCF sent some of their wrestlers to "invade" WWE. Unfortunately they only sent Szalinski, General of the Monkey Army and referee Lloyd McFloyd. And they were beaten up. Pretty badly. By Hornswoggle.
* Everyone who was suspended for one week with pay have returned to full time action, so Niteraw and Heatz will be returning this Sunday and Monday coming up. The main event for Niteraw will be The Story versus The Family.
* Lets see...ummm.....pfft.....umm...reports are indicating that Justice may or may not have got a haircut last week.......more on this as it develops.
And tonight we have our long awaited shoot interview.
We have with us today the first ever WWCF World Champion, he is now the WWCF Commissioner and Lead Commentator on WWCF Sunday Night Heatz, please welcome, Dr John. S. Amigo.
Amigo - Hello, Internet-savvy WWCF fans.
Mave Delzter - OK, first off, since you are a doctor, what do you have a PhD in?
Amigo - Physical Therapy.
Mave Deltzer - I thought there would be a lot of money in....Fizz-Ick-all Fare-ip-ee? Why did you get into wrestling?
Amigo- Well, my father, and a cousin were wrestlers, and I was pretty good Amateur Wrestler, and I started to get tired of Physical Therapy.
Mave Deltzer - You say your father and cousin were Amateur Wrestlers, I guess that your Father wasn't a fan of Pro Wrestling? Were you a fan of Pro Wrestling growing up or was it "banned" from the house?
Amigo- There seems to be some slight confusion. No, my father and that cousin were both Pro wrestlers. And my father always encouraged me to go Pro.
Mave Deltzer - Wow, so I take it your father and cousin trained you?
Amigo- Yes, but they weren't the only ones. Due to my dad being one of NJPW's original foreigners, he was able to get me into their Dojo, where guys like Gotch, Inoki, Maeda, and such also trained me.
Mave Deltzer - What was it like working in Japan at that time? Especially among big names like those?
Amigo- Like most young wrestlers in NJPW, hellacious. Stiff shots were the norms, and it took me a couple of years before I could shed that "Young Lion" image, and established myself. Also, what with me being a foreigner, I think I was looked down on just a bit.
Mave Deltzer - Who was your favorite opponent in NJPW?
Amigo- Scott Norton and Masa Saito stand out the most.
Mave Deltzer - So how did you end up leaving NJPW? Did you go do indie bookings elsewhere for a while or did you go straight to WWCF?
Amigo- Sadly, it was a cost-cutting measure in 2002. I then went to CMLL for a couple of years, then wandered to the WWCF.
Mave Deltzer - What was it like working in CMLL? I've heard some crazy stories about working down there.
Amigo- Almost completely different then NJPW. It was much more wild there, but it was a refreshing change of pace. And yes, the water there is very much bad.
Mave Deltzer - Ha ha ha ha, so after CMLL you went to WWCF? How did that come about? Did they contact you or did you contact them?
Amigo- Actually, I met up with D-Dave at some bar in Tijuana, and he talked me into it. But, I gave CMLL plenty of notice, made all my bookings, and left on good terms.
Mave Deltzer - What was it like meeting Dave for the first time?
Amigo- I didn't know if he knew, but a lot of people at the Bar thought he was a male prostitute because of the way he was dressed, what with the leather and all.
Mave Deltzer - You were pretty much on the ground floor when WWCF first started. Did you ever expect WWCF to get as big as it has?
Amigo- At times, no. But, I was thankfully proven wrong.
Mave Deltzer - Now of course, you were in the big round robin tournament to determine the first World Champion, which you won. Was it planned from the start that you would be the Champion or were WWCF so impressed with you that they gave you the title?
Amigo: Sorry to interject again, but it was a Elimination-style Tournament. And it was planned out.
Mave Deltzer - Oh, I'm sorry. So at Gookermania you won the title and then in swervey fashion it turns out your part of the Family, Many people were upset about this angle and the way it was handle. Wat are your thoughts on it?
Amigo: Well, I was with the Southwest Connection in that Survivor Series tournament, so it wasn't completely out of the blue.
Mave Deltzer - Shortly after winning the title you announced that you were retiring from Wrestling. What were the reasons for doing this?
Amigo: Liver surgery. It got infected, and I couldn't risk it.
Mave Deltzer - I'm sorry to hear that.
So these days your the comissioner of WWCF and your the play by play man on WWCF Sunday Night Heatz? How much of a change is that to being in the ring?
Amigo: I'm not foreign to either subject. I ran some backstage stuff in the Southwest, and was a dubbed commentator on NJPW DVD's.
Mave Deltzer: Many have dubbed you and our broadcast colleague, The Sam, to be the best commentary team on a Sunday Night Wrestling program this year. What is it like working with The Sam? I hear he hates Whitey.
Amigo: A bit arrogant, to be honest. I could eleborate, but I'm not here to say the "This guy sucks" type of interview.
Mave Deltzer - Well if your not here to bad mouth people then I guess that's the end of the interview. But before we go I have one more question, if you could get back into the WWCF ring, who would your opponent be and why?
Amigo: *Ponders*
Aaron Enigma.
Mave Deltzer - Mr Amigo, thank you for your time.
Amigo: It was great to be here.
